  • a brand new week . . .

This weekend started with a night at home with sushi takeout – it was exactly what I needed after a hectic week of installations. It was blissful. The rest of the weekend didn’t slow down – photoshoots for ‘workspace’ features, running errands, doing some shopping and going on an impromptu dinner with Eric made for a weekend that I crave to have more often. What did you do this weekend? A few things that have been inspiring me – a new clock from West Elm, two necklaces I’ve been layering together, John Robshaw textiles, and lastly, the new issue of Anthology. For all of you interior design lovers – buy it right away. I have a feeling this issue is going to sell out fast. The features inside get better and better as you turn each page. I hope each one of you have a wonderful and productive week ahead. Can you believe it’s the last full week of July? Where has this month gone. Be sure to pop in throughout the week. I’ll be announcing the Vero Linens winner, sharing an amazing summer recipe, and featuring a beautiful workspace that you won’t want to miss. Photo by Caitlin Flemming #lifestyle

  • a brand new week . .

Hello Monday! This weekend was quite productive – most importantly, my closet got organized (thank you for all of helpful tips). It’s nice to finally have one item of clothing hanging on each hanger and I can see the top of my dresser . . . this is big friends! I also spent the day taking a photo styling course – it’s interesting to get the perspective of a photographer pitching and shooting homes for magazines. My head was filled with valuable tips that I will take into account when I’m working in the future. A few things I’m loving – a new canister of Mariage french breakfast tea, a piece of Astier that I have on my nightstand, my current go-to necklace that I got in Santa Fe and lastly, the new issue of Kinfolk (it’s such a good issue)! Starting off the week knowing that Eric is going to be home every night this week makes this week blissful. Hope your Monday is off to a wonderful start! Photo by Caitlin Flemming #lifestyle

  • On the Menu: Homemade Apricot Jam

Although I had an amazing trip this past weekend I totally missed out on something I’ve been wanting to do for years – learn how to make homemade jam. My mom, aunt and cousin got together to make apricot jam. As I watched the process unfold over instagram, I was insanely jealous. Let me tell you, once you taste homemade jam, you aren’t going to want to buy store bought jelly. Since it’s a simple recipe I wanted to share it with all of you. Hope you enjoy this sweet recipe. Bon appetit! Homemade Apricot Jam Ingredients 2 pounds (about 5 cups) fresh apricots 7 cups sugar 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 box SURE-JELL Fruit Pectin 1/2 tsp. butter Directions 1. Bring boiling-water  to simmer. While boiling, wash jars and screw bands in hot soapy water; rinse with warm water. Pour boiling water over flat lids in saucepan off the heat. Let stand in hot water until ready to use. Drain jars before filling. 2. Finely chop unpeeled apricots. Measure exactly 5 cups prepared fruit into 8-qt. saucepot. Stir in lemon juice. 3. Stir pectin into prepared fruit in saucepot. Add butter to reduce foaming. Bring mixture to full rolling boil (boil that doesn’t stop bubbling when stirred) on high heat, stirring constantly. Stir in sugar. Bring to full rolling boil and boil 1 min., stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Be sure to skim off any foam with metal spoon. 4. Ladle immediately into prepared jars, filling to within 1/8 inch of tops. Wipe jar rims and threads. Cover with two-piece lids. Screw bands tightly. Place jars on elevated rack in canner. Lower rack into canner. (Water must cover jars by 1 to 2 inches. Add boiling water, if necessary.) Cover; bring water to gentle boil. Process 10 min. Remove jars and place upright on a towel to cool completely. After jars cool, check seals by pressing middles of lids with finger. (If lids spring back, lids are not sealed and refrigeration is necessary.) Photo by Caitlin Flemming // (adapted from here) #entertaining #cooking

  • a brand new week . . .

This weekend quite honestly was incredibly refreshing – being outdoors, in sunshine, away from technology definitely rejuvenated me to start the work week. A few of the highlights from the trip – paddle boarding for the first time (I’m now obsessed) and ending the trip with a delicious seafood boil feast. A few things I’m loving from the weekend – the new issue of Inside Out (one of my favorite Aussie magazines),the pouch for my Clare Vivier messenger tote came in handy this weekend, photos from the trip and lastly homemade apricot jam made by my mom, cousin and aunt – recipe for the jam will be up tomorrow. Hope all of you have a wonderfully productive week! Photo by Caitlin Flemming #lifestyle

  • a brand new week . . .

Monday is here and I’m excited for an action packed day. This weekend I got inspired by walking the streets of Brooklyn, Nolita and the West Village – there is just entirely too much to see and do here. The brick brownstone house streets were darling to walk down as I wandered into stores like Haus Interiors and John Derian. I especially loved meeting up with old and new friends for delicious meals – Colonie in Brooklyn was a particular favorite of mine. It was all around an amazing weekend spent in New York (despite the heat factor). Today I’ll be running around to meetings all across the city and hoping to pop into a museum along the way. Also, thank you so much for all of the comments and emails about the new design. It makes my heart sing that you all love it as much as I do. Have a wonderful week friends, I’m off to Maine tomorrow morning! Photo by Caitlin Flemming #lifestyle

  • workspace: janezic collection

I’ve been dreaming of launching this new series for quite some time. Here in San Francisco I’ve been privileged enough to meet tons of unique, creative entrepreneurs. Each has inspired me in a different way but the one thing they have in common is passion for what they do. As more and more come into my life I thought that instead of keeping them to myself, I should share them with all of you. Each person has a one of a kind workspace that I’m honored to share. I’m debuting the series with a friend dear to my heart, Michele Janezic. She brought me into a group of women that I will forever cherish. When I was a sophomore in college Michele hired me at Erica Tanov. Being immersed in the brand and around creative minds with the company led me to where I am today. While working Saturdays with Michele we bonded over life, love for our city and dreamed about what we wanted to do and achieve in our futures. Michele had always wanted to have her own line of clothing and it has now become reality. Her line – Janezic, is my go to brand when I’m having trouble getting dressed in the morning. I know that if I put on something Janezic it will be a good day. One thing that Michele is constantly inspiring me with are her quotes – it’s amazing what a few words can do for your soul. I asked if she had a favorite that motivates or inspires her when it comes to her business. When she sent me this quote I wrote it down and stuck it on my mirror. Now, take a glimpse into her stunning studio where she creates every piece she produces. A big thank you to Michele for letting me photograph and share he workspace with all of you. Be sure to check out her stunning collection – here and if you want to get inspired daily by her quotes and photos, follow her on Instagram. You won’t regret it. • on the menu: white nectarine salad

Summer salad season is in full swing. The farmers market is overflowing with tons of salad goodies; strawberries, peaches, cherries and more – I’m in heaven! This last weekend I went to the farmers market and picked up everything for this recipe. It’s easy, I promise! Enjoy and bon appétit friends! Ingredients 10oz. mixed greens 1 white nectarine, cut into bite sized pieces ¼ cup sliced candid pecans, lightly toasted 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 1 tablespoon honey Directions – Place the sliced pecans in a skillet over low heat to toast for about 4 to 6 minutes. – At the bottom of a large salad bowl pour in the white wine vinegar and mix in honey. Whisk the ingredients together. Then slowly drizzle the 4 tablespoons of olive oil into the bowl. – Then cut the white nectarine into bite sized slices and add salad bowl. Gently toss until coated and add in mixed greens. – Once the greens are coated, top the salad with the toasted pecans. Finish it off with a dash of sea salt and pepper. • a brand new week . . .

This weekend was the epitome of summer here in San Francisco. It was all about 80 degree weather (with no sea breeze or fog), time spent outdoors wandering around the city enjoying friends company, stores I never get to pop into and a little quality time at the park. It was blissful and quite honestly felt like a three day weekend. It’s amazing what a little vitamin D can do for the soul. A few things that I’m loving from this weekend – the new issue of Vogue Living, white peonies (my favorite flower), homemade granola from Batter Bakery and lastly an image I took of the super sweet strawberries I picked up at the farmers market this weekend. I hope all of you had just as sweet of a weekend as I did. Let this week bring you joy, happiness and productivity! Photo by Caitlin Flemming #lifestyle

  • a brand new week . . .

This weekend was all about enjoying friends company and having a lot of downtime to relax at home – these days, that doesn’t happen very often. It was just the weekend I needed – seeing girlfriends, cooking at home and opening up a book. It was quite blissful. A few things I’m loving – a new hand towel, recipes cards (both a birthday present from Mrs E), new wrapping tape, and peonies are everywhere (twitter, instagram and blogs).I couldn’t resist posting these beauties because they are making my house smell utterly divine. Now that June is underway I want to welcome two new sponsors to Sacramento Street –Lo & Sons is back and they’ve got some incredible new colors and styles (pop back Wednesday for a giveaway with them). AndVero Linens is a brand new sponsor and let me tell you – their sheets are heavenly. It’s like going to sleep in a soft cloud. Big thank you to both sponsors for being part of the blog this month. Have a wonderful Monday friends! #lifestyle
