As the it begins to get cold across the nation, even here is San Francisco I’ve been craving warm drinks. The Citizenry (one of my go-to shops for gift giving!) reached out to partner together on getting into the kitchen to make something warm that anyone can enjoy in their own home. And with the holiday season in full swing I wanted to create something festive – that’s why I teamed up with As Quoted (my local coffee shop) to create the perfect drink this season that will keep you warm and get you in the holiday spirit. They are even offering them this weekend for everyone while their kids decorate holiday gingerbread!
Here is how to make your very own at home – it’s so SIMPLE!
PEPPERMINT MOCHA
Ingredients
3/4 cup steamed or warmed milk of your choice (almond milk, regular milk, etc) 3 tbsp drinking chocolate 1/4 tsp alcohol free peppermint extract* 2 tbsp liquid sweetener (optional) 1 double shot of espresso garnish: whipped cream and/or marshmallows
Directions
1. Warm milk over low heat.
2. Whisk in drinking chocolate, peppermint extract (and sweetener) to espresso shot until dissolved.
3. Pour in warmed milk and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream or marshmallows.
*if your extract contains alcohol, you may add this to the milk before warming.
There is nothing I love more than curling up with something festive to drink throughout the holidays. Luckily, The Citizenry makes it even better with their cozy throws and stunning ceramics. It makes me want to do it on a daily basis!
Hope you all enjoy this holiday recipe with family and friends. Also, don’t forget to check out Gift Guides!
