Style: Getting Festive for the Holidays

Old Navy Holiday

Throughout the holiday season it seems as though everyone is running around – checking off items from their shopping lists, attending holidays soirees and packing for their impending holiday travel. In our household, I feel as though mid-December came and it’s utter chaos!

Yes, my dining room is filled with gifts that have yet to be wrapped, I’ve stuffed our holiday cards but have yet to address them and until a few days ago our tree hadn’t even been decorated. Let’s just say, this year I’m way behind.

With that being said, I was able to pick up a few key pieces that I knew both Jackson and I could wear throughout the holidays. When it comes to dressing for the holidays I have three key tips I always go by:

  1. Layer – It’s always a little chillier this time of year so adding layers is a must. Whether it’s a staple sweater or scarf it adds a little extra something to an outfit.

  2. Pick it out ahead of time – This is a new rule I use for myself and my family. If we are hosting or going out – I make sure that all of us know what we are changing into so that we can get ready we ease.

  3. Keep it simple – at the end of the day, don’t over think your outfit. Remember that keeping easy and simple will make you feel more comfortable at whatever family gathering or event you might have.

What matters most around the holidays is gathering together with your favorite people and having a joyful moment that is filled with laughter, joy and merriment. That’s what we plan on doing this season. Happy holidays and I hope this helps guide you on dressing you and your family for the holidays with ease!
