  • a brand new week . . .

I cannot believe tomorrow is my last day – it’s a weird feeling leaving somewhere you’ve been for four years. However, I’m ecstatic about moving onto a career that I’ve wanted to peruse for so long! I’ll be celebrating with friends tomorrow night and then jetting off to Portland to spend some quality time with family and friends for a few days. This past weekend Eric and I decided to stay home to get the house in order. As we cleaned out drawers and cabinets, I fell back in love with these beautiful things that have always inspired me; a vintage blue Ralli quilt I got back in March at Seret & Sons in Santa Fe, my chestnut candle that I bring out every fall, my leopard belt that I’ve been wearing with almost every outfit, a vintage glass beaded necklace from Alameda and my favorite fruit – figs (they are so divine). Did anything in particular inspire you over the past few days? Hope all of you had an inspiring weekend and cheers to a fabulous week ahead! Photos by Caitlin Flemming #lifestyle

First and foremost, thank you so much for the overwhelming support about the new job. Your sweet words here are over on twitter filled my heart with so much joy. A few things that got me inspired this week were – a vintage necklace that I rediscovered, a birch box that smells like cinnamon is getting me excited for fall festivities to begin, my new favorite button-up that I got at the Chloe Rose anniversary party, putting away my summer fragrance was a bittersweet moment, and lastly, Dwellings is one of my favorite decor books – it is a must have for every household. Hope all of you have a lovely first fall weekend – you can definitely sense a change in season here in San Francisco. Cheers to a new week! Photo by Caitlin Flemming #lifestyle

  • a dream come true . . .

As the season changes from summer to fall, I’m excited to announce my own transition into something new. It’s been a longtime coming and I knew in my heart that one day I would finally break into the interior design world. Today, I’m excited to announce that I’ll begin working as a Marketing/Design Assistant for Kendall Wilkinson Design!! I’m overjoyed with excitement – it’s the direction I’ve been wanting to take my career in for a long time. With the help of my design mentor – who is like my fairy godfather – we made it happen. I will forever be grateful to him for the lessons he has taught me, and I look forward to the new lessons he will teach me throughout my career. Hopefully someday I’ll be able to pay it forward to someone else. While this is an exciting time, I’m sad to say goodbye to the team I have worked with for the past three and a half years. I’ve been given some amazing opportunities at Real Girls Network and it will always have a special place in my heart. The relationships I’ve developed, the lessons I have learned, and the projects I have worked on all exceeded my expectations more than I could have ever imagined when I started at RGN right out of college. It was an honor to work with everyone there, along with the new Meredith Corporation team that we joined a year ago. Cheers to taking a leap and jumping into new endeavors! It’s not every day that you get to follow your dreams. It’s going to be quite a ride my dears (and don’t worry, the blog isn’t going anywhere)! xx, Caitlin #lifestyle

  • a brand new week . . .

Happy Monday! I am back from a wonderfully relaxing trip to Palm Springs – it was hot, hot, hot. It was exactly the kind of weekend I needed about 2 months ago. On Friday we explored Palm Springs – did a little shopping, checked out the Ace, and then headed back to our house to cook a delicious meal. The rest of the weekend we stayed at the house for pool time. It was divine! Here are a few of my favorites from this week . . . my caramel Clare Vivier clutch that I’ve been carrying around all week, a new lip gloss color by Estee Lauder (I love the bright pink), a photo strip from the Ace hotel with Eric, branches from Birch and my signed copy of HUE by Kelly Wearstler. I also went to the Viceroy, Wearstler did a phenomenal job designing it and it is even more gorgeous in person than the pictures I’ve seen! From the architecture, to the furniture, to the paint colors – I was in awe. And last, but not least, my new iPhone – the Apple store in Palm Springs was so incredibly kind to replace it for me. I’ve never had such amazing customer service. I should say that not having a phone for two days was interesting and I realized how much I rely on it. It’s kind of like my third arm and I need to remember to step away and enjoy life without technology. Hope all of you have a lovely week ahead. Summer has finally arrived in San Francisco, so I’ll be frolicking around the city in sundresses. Photos by Caitlin Flemming #lifestyle

  • a brand new week . . .

I can't believe Monday is already here - this weekend went by entirely too fast! The past few days I was able to catch up on all the NYFW shows, all of which make me want to skip over winter and jump straight into spring. Quality time at home was ever so lovely - making brunch, tiding up the apartment and just being plan old lazy. What did all of you do this weekend? Here are a few of my favorites from this week . . . I couldn’t and still can’t put down the September issue of British Vogue – it’s filled with fall fashion that has me dreaming up outfits for the chilly months ahead. I’m in L-O-V-E with my the necklace that came in the mail from Joslyn – she and her girlies are uber talented. I’ve been wearing my favorite leopard Kate Spade flats from last fall almost every single day – they are my go-to shoe for every occasion. This moleskine notepad goes with me everywhere just in case inspiration comes while walking around the city or I’m sitting in a cafe. And lastly, I took a little trip to Birch to pick up some blooms for the house that make it smell oh-so-good. Hope all of you have a lovely week ahead. I hope it goes by fast because we’re off on a little vacation later this week! Photo by Caitlin Flemming

  • currently coveting janezic . . .

Everyone is craving fall fashion – the sweaters, coats, boots and scarves! This season I’m counting down the days, hours, and minutes until the new Janezic collection hits stores. From the colors, to the designs, I’ve fallen madly in love with all of her fall pieces. And if you want to get to know Michele Janezic a little bit more, be sure to read this lovely feature in Where SF. You’ll get the inside scoop on how she gets inspired and what she thinks about California’s style. Photos by Leslie Williamson #style

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend. Mine was quite busy traveling to Sacramento for a bridal shower weekend. It was nice to spend quality time with girlfriends, which doesn’t happen as often as I would like since we all have hectic schedules. But I’m happy to be home – the fog welcomed me with open arms as I drove back into the city, and I realized how much I love the cool fog. The 100 degree heat this weekend was a little too much for me. Putting together my inspiration board together this week was so much fun because I was inspired by interiors, fashion and even beauty. First, I came across the Design*Sponge summer newspaper at Birch in Hayes Valley (try to find it in your hood – it’s a fabulous read!). A few more items that gave my brain a burst of inspiration – my vintage Pierre Hardy clutch that I found in a small consignment shop in Napa, one of my favorite jewelry finds from the Alameda Flea market, a few new Estée Lauder products that are making my skin glow (the night repair is unbelievable), the verbena smell engulfing my apartment because of this candle (from Birch) and lastly, my Astier elephant sits on my nightstand and is filled with my most prized treasures (a gift from my mom that I wake up to every morning). What has been inspiring you lately? Something in your house? Around your neighborhood? I’d love to know! Cheers to having a fabulous week! Photo: Caitlin Flemming #lifestyle

  • a brand new week . . .

Morning! This weekend filled with a few impromptu outings - a last minute trip up to Napa to visit Lisa and her family (we had lots of delicious wine) and going to a matinee of The Help, which I've been wanting to see (it's a MUST see). It was so nice to get out of foggy San Francisco because it feels like winter outside. Still crossing my fingers Indian Summer comes soon! These are the things that got me incredibly inspired this past week: the new issue of Vogue Living, a necklace I got last January in Salt Lake at Koo De Ker, my John Darien owl paper weight, my new Coach Classic handbag that I can’t stop wearing and my sunnies that finally got worn in the Napa sunshine. Hope all of you had a fabulous weekend and cheers to a wonderful week! *Photo by Caitlin Flemming #lifestyle

  • a brand new week . . .

I can't believe Monday is already here - this weekend went by entirely too fast! And a few days in Carmel is just what I needed. Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to my mom today. It was so nice spending quality time with her this past week. Putting together my inspiration board in Carmel was a blast – my aunt’s home is filled with beautiful treasures. So I had to add in a few of her things that I loved in her home – this old saint is from Taos, New Mexico and this Matisse book is from her incredible book collection (so jealous of it). We went shopping in Carmel Valley to escape the fog and soak up some sunshine. One of our go to spots is Tancredi & Morgen where I found an amazing blue and white french bowl and an old toast holder that I’m going to use to store my business cards from Maisonette. Then we headed into Carmel by the Sea for a little JCrew retail therapy, where I found this beautiful necklace. Hope all of you have a lovely week ahead. I hope it goes by fast because Mrs. Erin will be arriving on Saturday! *Photo by Caitlin Flemming #lifestyle

  • a brand new week . . .

Happy Monday lovelies – popping in late because it was a hectic start to the week! This weekend was filled with all sorts of inspiration. From doing a little fall shopping, to rising early for the flea market, to doing some much needed cleaning of drawers and filing cabinets – I am refreshingly prepared for the week ahead. A little about what has got me inspired for this week. Beautiful, bright, green succulents, a butterfly that I found while cleaning, the stunning platter I got last week at Terrain, my business card holder that carries cards I’ve been sifting through from last week and my favorite flea market find – a bracelet that had my heart go a flutter. Hope all of you have a lovely week ahead. I have a feeling it’s going to be a good one for all of us! Photo by Caitlin Flemming #lifestyle
