a brand new week . . .

Hagia Sophia | By Caitlin Flemming

Istanbul has been incredible already – the food, the architecture and the people – I’ve loved every moment. Sunday was our first full day here. We spent it wandering the streets hunting for rugs, treasures and beautiful Turkish towels near the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (the Blue Mosque). We had a little too much fun sifting through piles and piles of textiles and rugs. Talk about dangerous for three design lovers! As we walked up the hill from the Arasta Bazaar we entered into the Blue Mosque – it’s truly beautiful inside and out. The tiles and marble used to build it are simply stunning. With every step I took inside I came across something new that took my breath away. We unfortunately didn’t have time to go into the beloved Hagia Sophia yet but we got a glimpse of its beauty from the Blue Mosque. I cannot wait to step inside. I’m in awe of this city after one day – I can’t wait to see what the next five days bring.

This week there is a lot in store – a new series is launching later today, a new Blooms in Season post that is absolutely breathtaking, and much more.

I hope you all have a splendid week ahead. Don’t forget to check back here or on Instagram for inspiration from the trip.
