Interiors: Creating an Organic Sanctuary

Ever since I re-designed Jackson’s room I’ve had a little bit of jealousy – I’m in love with his room. So I decided to give our Master Bedroom a winter update that both Eric and I can retreat to that is cozy during these chillier months. I have always cared deeply about the linens on my bed. After all, we spend a good amount of time in bed in our lifetime. While the mattress is important, so too are the linens we choose to use on our beds. I prefer linens that are organic cotton or linen and cool to the touch.

I teamed up with Coyuchi (based here in SF) to show you how to create the perfect bed with organic bed linens. Coyuchi has been producing organic linens for the past 25 years. They were making them before it was a widely practiced alternative. Knowing where my linens are made and how they make them, gives me peace of mind. The products Coyuchi makes also add texture and a natural element to your bed.

On my bed I wanted to have the linens create a calm retreat from my hectic life. I chose a neutral palette to counter my colorful life!

ON THE BED

A set of crisp white cotton sheets (always my favorite) White organic blanket Gray flannel duvet cover (the softest I’ve ever felt) Charcoal blanket (for those extra cold night) Charcoal alpaca pebble knit pillows (the knit of these is spectacular!) Finished it off with a white braided rope lumbar pillow in the front

On my son’s first bed out of his crib, I had so much fun deciding which linens to use. He love hiswhite flannel sheetsand cozywhite organic blanket(more details onhis room here)! They are so soft to the touch and he has transitioned flawlessly to his new bed. I also placed agrey striped wool blanketat the end of the bed. It looks so nice with theRippled Stripe Pillow Cover.

It isn’t just about how the beds looks, it also has to do with the health of your family. No harsh chemicals are used and you can feel secure about the health and safety of your loved ones. I couldn’t be happier with how it all came together. My husband and I have never slept better!
